When to Use:
Anti-Creo-Soot is a nontoxic environmentally safe liquid manganese
catalyst that attacks and destroys dangerous creosote and soot.
When sprayed daily into the firebox during low fire conditions,
ACS Anti-Creo-Soot helps convert creosote and soot to a harmless
ash or char. For best results use daily during the heating season.
Have severe conditions inspected and corrected by a qualified chimney
sweep before using ACS Anti-Creo-Soot.
Wood Burning Appliance:
Time Use: With a small fire burning, spray about 60 squirts
(about 4-ounces) on the interior walls of the firebox, on the wood,
and in the general direction of the flue.
Use: Spray on the inside of the firebox, on the wood, and toward
the flue, 6-12 squirts total. In severe cases, use up to 60 squirts
a day in above manner for the first 7 days, then 6-12 squirts daily.
There is no harm in liberal use of the product. Economical one gallon
refills are also available.
After Treatment: Continue
with a small, brisk fire for at least 45 minutes. ACS Anti-Creo-Soot
becomes active at temperatures of 300°F. and above (surface stovepipe
temperatures). Use a small charge of wood to avoid overheating during
early stages of creosote control. Remove dried creosote and soot
from stovepipe and elbows as necessary to avoid blocks
Similar procedure (as
Wood Burning Appliance) except do not spray ACS Anti-Creo-Soot direct
onto hot coals.
Apply daily to hopper and fire chamber to reduce ash and clogging.
Stove with Catalytic Combustor:
Put combustor in bypass before treatment and for about 1-hour afterwards.
Never spray ACS Anti-Creo-Soot on a running or hot catalytic combustor.
