  Quick Product Facts

MasonrySaver Water-Repellent For Brick is a one-component, V.O.C. compliant water-repellent which contains a proprietary adapted siloxane. This water-based siloxane penetrates masonry up to 1/4 inch or more depending on surface porosity and moisture content at application. MasonrySaver Water-Repellent for Brick reacts with the minerals in masonry in the presence of ultraviolet light and atmospheric moisture. This reaction forms strong permanent bonds beneath the surface and creates a hydrophobic zone that prevents water molecules from penetrat¬ing, while allowing free migration of water vapors. The chemical bonds allow MasonrySaver Water-Repellent for Brick to become an integral part of the substrate and provide long-term water-repellent protection.

  • Non-Glossy
  • 100% Vapor Permeable

  MasonrySaver Water Repellent for Brick

MasonrySaver Water Repellent for BrickWhere to Use:
MasonrySaver Water-Repellent for Brick protects most vertical or horizontal outside, above-grade masonry. Natural substrate color and surface textures will have little or no gloss created.  Slight darkening may occur on dense surfaces. Test before treating any surface to ensure wanted results.

Vertical Application:
Apply from bottom up using a low-pressure sprayer (10-25 psi) with a fan type nozzle. Flood surface until excess runs down six to eight inches below spray. To assure peak performance, a wet on wet appli¬cation is recommended; apply second coat within three to five minutes. Agitate a wet treated surface with a soft bristle brush to ensure even distribution and greater penetration. Protect bordering paint films, windows, plant life, asphalt-based material and all nontargeted surfaces from overspray. Remove overspray immediately with soap and water.

Horizontal Application:
Apply a single application with low-pressure spray, or pour from container so surface remains wet for two to three minutes before final absorption. Avoid puddling or ponding; brush or broom to spread material until it thoroughly penetrates the surface. Block all drains and use absorptive coverings to contain run-off of excess material. Use soap and water to remove overspray as soon as possible.

What are the Coverage Rate(s):
Coverage rates will range from 90 - 150 sq. feet per gallon depending on surface porosity.

When to Apply:
Surface and air temperatures should be a minimum of 40°F. Do not use on asphalt-based material and surfaces. Do not apply to frozen or frost covered surfaces. Application must be to clean, sound, dry to slightly damp surfaces. Do not apply to wet or water saturated surfaces, or when rainfall is expected within six hours.

How Long to Wait:
Drying time is generally one to two hours depending on temperature and humidity.

What is a Siloxane:
Patented modified siloxanes react with ultraviolet light and moisture to create a water repellent effect. Excellent alkaline resistance and depth of penetration make them long-lasting. Excellent water repellency and vapor transmission.

Safety Precautions to Observe:
Proper safety procedures should be followed at all times while handling the product. Wear chemical resistant gloves and chemical splash goggles.

Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for important health and safety information before use.

  Worth Quoting...
" MasonrySaver® Water Repellent for Brick is 100% vapor permeable, which allows the water vapors to escape. This reduces costly chimney repair such as spalling, scaling, deterioration, and freeze-thaw damage that results from trapped moisture when clear coatings and water sealers are used for waterproofing brick.
